Open Your Browser ( MS Explorer, Netscape etc)
Type in the word tripod, then hold ctrl button on your keyboard and hit the enter key. 2nd option: hand type the url www.tripod.com

Choose the sign up option
Choose Free, click continue at bottom of page ( note it's worth the 4.95 to upgrade to plus You can upgrade at a later date if your web goes well.)

“Have pen and paper ready to write down the info you fill in for registration”
Fill in member name: (this will be the name of your site) for this Example: asthewebturns0
type as you see it here> yourwebsitename “no CAPS no SPACES”
Fill in password “write this down!!! “
Confirm password “type in again”

 NEXT your personal information.. Fill in All required fields….

 NOTE: Write down the info you put here. Why? If you loose your password Tripod will require your birthdates and email address to confirm they should send out your password information.   Also you may need or wish to upgrade in the future, Pay for more space, you’ll need your correct name, email address, and birthday to do this, as they verify it against your credit card info… (No credit card information is required for the free hosting).

Once you’ve filled out all the fields
Uncheck all boxes at the bottom, Why? You will receive all kinds of junk mail if you don’t….
Type in the number they ask you to type, then click the I agree button

 Now you’ll see a thank you page along with the click here link to start building

(Exceptions: If you've chosen a name already on tripod then you’ll have to follow prompts and change your website name) Click the activate your account  link and start building button

 On the next page “welcome to tripod”
You’ll see an alert icon and the following Already know your way around? Click here and you won't see this page again. Click on the click here link

 Now you’re on the Hello “your website name” page
Put your mouse pointer on the my account button, a slide menu appears, click the website details link. Scroll down till you see preferences and click the enable link for FrontPage You’ll see a new page saying congrats your front page is enabled… (It really takes a few minutes) for this to take place... Then you’re ready to upload using FrontPage http: upload…  You will receive and email from Tripod with your personal information.  Keep this email.  ( I save in my web folder)
